I'd add Lucifer to this list (but only after you've read Sandman as it is a sequel of sorts).

Added! I should get the rest of Sandman from Swat so I can read Lucifer.

PS - Can you add me to the mod list?
Chasechikchasingtides on October 1st, 2009 12:29 am (UTC)
Sure! I thought I did a long time ago. (Oop?)

Lucifer is definitely worth it, especially if you've got any kind of background in Christian mythos.

...fix Watchmen's spelling? Needs to be shot down.

Nightmares & Fairy Tales

...if we're including manga.
Pet Shop of Horrors
Deadman Wonderland

...wow, all of mine seem pretty morbid.

Spelling fixed!

I blame the sticky keys on the library computer.
madhatterpanmadhatterpan on September 30th, 2009 06:12 pm (UTC)
I hope they are sticky as in they have a tendency of getting stuck and not as in...someone left a mysterious sticky substance on them.

Yes. The first option.

I maintain that DC: The New Frontier is one of my favorite comics ever, so feel free to add it to the list. (Also, the 1970s issues of Justice Society of America. Those are excellent.)

My Warren Ellis devotion requires:
Freakangles (online and in print)
and Transmetropolitan (though I only managed to get through issue 1)
Also, Les Cités Obscures (Cities of the Fantastic) by Schuiten and Peeters. Those are in Carpenter. They're full of gorgeous Art Nouveau architecture with what I remember to be fine story lines. They're definitely SciFi- not so much action- with some steampunk.
